Remote Sensing Instruments (RSI) was established in the year 1985 by Mr.T.Sesha Rao an Ex-Scientist/Engineer of National Remote Sensing Agency (NRSA), Department of Space, Balanagar, Hyderabad.

RSI was established in technical collaboration with NRSA with the objective of helping to establish Remote Sensing Laboratories for Departments / Govt. Agencies / Private Agencies / Educational Institutions etc. Further, RSI has established and pioneered in providing consultancy in Thematic Mapping , Topographical Surveys , Cadastral Surveys , Large Scale Mapping (LSM) , Urban planning , Image Processing , GIS , Photogrammetry Applications , Software Development / Customization for different user organizations in the country .
